Moving forward together

From the August 1969 Memo:

If our society is to order its life so as to make possible the objective of moving “Forward Together,” [people] of conscience will need to maintain closer vigilance on government trends which undermine justice. Citizens who truly believe that a divided society–one black and one white–is the wrong direction, will need to make their concern felt.
